Bring professional theatre right to your child’s school!

Carousel Players’ touring shows travel across Niagara, Hamilton, Halton, and Brant to bring professional theatre performances to students in their schools – no need for a field trip!

Our live performances are presented in the school gym or theatre for up to 250 children, while our digital show is available to stream right into classrooms. All bookings include classroom resources for teachers to extend the educational benefit of the performances (learn more here).

Tips & Tricks from Other Parents

Cost Savings Tip #1: Bring neighbouring schools together for one performance! Carousel Players can perform for up to 250 children, so if your school has a big gym you can invite another school to enjoy the show and share the cost.

Cost Savings Tip #2: Ask parents to contribute part of the fee. Our shows are suitable for 3 grades each. If your school has three classes per grade, the cost for a live performance is around $3.90 per student. One twoonie from each student will cover more than half the fee!

Fundraising Tip #1: Approach your school’s Parent Council to see if they have funds for arts programs.

Fundraising Tip #2: Host a small event with proceeds going towards the cost of the performance. A car wash or rummage sale perhaps?

Fundraising Tip #3: Have a local organization or business sponsor a performance and then invite them to see the performance as a thank you! If they donate the funds directly to Carousel Players, they’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for their support of your school.

bring drama education classes to your school!

We are always looking for schools who would like to host our After School Drama Program. This is an eight week program of high-energy drama games and activities for elemetary students. The fee for the program is $100 per child and class sizes are capped at 12 children.

Carousel Players will provide all the program materials and a trained arts educator for each class. All a school needs to provide is one room per age (grades 1 to 3 and grades 4 to 6) group with enough open floor space for twelve children to move around. The room will be needed for 75 minutes after the final bell: 15 minutes for students to make their way to the class plus 1 hour for the lesson. We ask that the room be dedicated to the program for all eight weeks to give the students a consistent destination. A classroom is not suitable for this program unless there is ample space to use the room without needing to move students’ desks.
