Meet the 2018 Summer Theatre School Instructors

Colin Anthes
Colin AnthesInstructor
Colin Bruce Anthes is a St. Catharines actor, writer, director, producer, and educator. He serves as Artistic Director of the ensemble creation company Twitches & Itches Theatre, works with many Niagara theatre and arts organizations, and is a core collaborator with Stolen Theatre Collective. Upcoming, Colin will be directing Twitches & Itches’ workshop production of September Songs, performing in Stolen Theatre’s House, and directing the Christmas bash All Through the House for the Niagara Symphony Orchestra. Colin has received the Humber Theatre Award, Theatre Ontario’s International Training Scholarship, a St. Catharines Arts Award, and was recently inducted into Stamford Collegiate’s Arts Wall of Fame.
Monica Dufault
Monica Dufault Shaw Acting Instructor
Monica trained at the National Theatre School of Canada, and works professionally as an actor, director and playwright. She loves theatre for young audiences and working with young people. Monica teaches acting and playwriting at Brock University and is the Artistic Director of Essential Collective Theatre.
Teresa Ricciuti
Teresa RicciutiInstructor
Teresa Ricciuti studied Drama in Education, Theatre, and Dramatic Literature at Brock University. For the past 8 years Teresa has been teaching with for the District School Board of Niagara and is currently teaching drama, dance, music, and visual art. She has worked with Carousel Players for the past 10 years, beginning as the summer camp coordinator and now teaching summer camps and March Break camps.
Clelia Scala
Clelia ScalaArt of Puppetry & Mask Instructor
Clelia Scala is a mask and puppet maker. She designs and makes masks and puppets for theatre and educational institutions and has made masks for video and film. She has taught mask and puppet making to groups of five to twenty-five people in classroom and workshop settings. She is looking forward to making puppets with the Carousel Players campers
Kristen Smyth
Kristen SmythInstructor
Kristen Smyth just completed her Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts at Brock University, and will be attending teacher’s college in the fall. She is the production manager for All the King’s Men Theatre Company, and was an Ambassador for the 2016 World Festival of Children’s Theatre. This is her fourth year coordinating Carousel Players’ Theatre School, and she can’t wait to see what exciting things this year will bring!
