Peg and the Yeti

Peg and the Yeti is an adaptation of Kenneth Oppel’s children’s book that features a brave young girl named Peg who sets out on a great adventure to climb Mount Everest. She travels across the world by boat, train and water buffalo until she reaches the Himalayas. After dodging an avalanche, she befriends a mysterious Yeti who helps her reach the top of the mountain.

Peg boldly embraces the beauty of the world around her and the value of the people she meets. Led by Peg’s parents, the audience participates in the expedition by creating the imaginary events and places along the way.

Marnie is a 9 year old would-be astronaut who gets caught building a spaceship in her basement. Much to her amazement, she doesn’t get in trouble. Instead, her family actually helps her finish the job. In a surprising turn of events, Marnie and her family find themselves in a truly remarkable flight through space into the unknown.

This heart-warming and funny play follows the adventures of an imaginative and colourful young girl as she discovers the importance of family.

Christine is mad at her boyfriend Joey. She suspects he knows something about a racial incident in their neighbourhood and he’s not telling. He’d rather talk about basketball, their upcoming romantic getaway or complain about homework.

Bring your students to the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre to see an honest portrayal of a young high school couple that faces issues of dating, trust, family pressures and prejudice. The play encourages teens to examine values, talk about racism and communicate their feelings about doing the right thing.
